We’ve all been there. We are trying to be good in search of those good deals on heels but then…
You’re walking through the department store past the shoe section when you spot them- a pair of shoes so lovely, so perfect, so stylishly ‘you,’ that you absolutely have to have them because you’re almost positive they’re going to change your life. Tunnel vision kicks in, and you begin floating towards them. The closer you become, the deeper in love you fall…until you’re close enough that the price tag becomes visible, and the sticker shock swiftly ends your romance before it could even begin.
It’s positively heartbreaking, we know! But if you can learn to adopt the splurge vs. steal mentality, it’s a heartbreak that is easily mendable!
If you’re able to afford the splurge shoe, more power to you! But for most of us gals, this just isn’t practical to do more than once or twice a year, and that’s perfectly okay! It’s always possible to find an affordable, stylish equivalent.
The most important part of the splurge vs. steal mentality is not to think of the steal-shoe as settling for something less. Both the splurge and steal shoes are runway inspired, so you aren’t compromising on style or trend. Remember, when it comes to the splurge-shoe, it’s often just the label you’re paying for. And we can be honest-sometimes our shallow sides take over, and it does feel more exciting and special to be strutting around in the uber expensive designer shoe. However, think of it like this- buying the adorable yet affordable shoe leaves more money in your pocket to buy, let’s say, another pair of shoes!
Even designers understand most women look for good deals on heels, which is why many of them offer a more affordable collection: Michael Kors has Michael by Michael Kors, Anne Klein has AK Anne Klein, Elle Tahari has T Tahari, Dolce Vita has DV by Dolce Vita, etc.
We’ve put together a few examples of some of our favorite Splurge vs Steals just to make you a believer. You and your pocket book can thank us later!
